Critters.
Mice, voles, moles, chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, otters, weasels, coyotes, foxes, wolves, lynx, fishers, deer, moose, bears, birds/spiders/bugs/beetles/insects and more…
They’re here. They won’t bother you if you don’t bother them.
There’s no way to stop the mice from getting in, especially in autumn/spring when they’re most actively looking for a place to winter or nest. In the cabin and glamp tents, keep food well-wrapped to discourage them from ruining your snacks. We do our best to keep them at bay and make sure the cabin is as clean as possible despite their presence.
You will see/hear critters scurrying around all over the place once mind-chatter stops. If you sit quietly for any length of time, songbirds will fill in and serenade you – it’s dreamy.
The larger mammals stay away from people who are noisy, even walking through the woods while humming is enough to alert them to your presence (the dogs help too).
Sorry, we can’t constantly attend the outhouses to sweep out spiders, they’ll just come back making more webs in the next few hours. They stick to the top corners and nonchalantly go about their business, hoping you won’t notice. Just think of them like pals who actually keep the nastier bugs away from you – some people even name them.
Thanks for choosing our little piece of paradise to respect all creatures, great and small.
