At the end of each year, as we decompress, we have a debriefing session on how the season went, what we can do better, what needs attention etc… For the most part, we’re happy about another great year! We had 4 unique events and luckily the weather was glorious every weekend. The rain mainly kept to weekdays; considering what’s going on in many other parts of the country, we’re grateful for it. Much appreciation to campers, there was very little garbage to pick up and hardly any glass in the recycling bins!
Last year, we thought about reining in the number of visitors in general (outside of events) as it was getting difficult to manage, but decided to wait and see how it would go… This season is the first time that a few people/groups forgot to pay after their stays, our bikes were damaged with no compensation, safety concerns were raised, and items were stolen — We will now start charging the full fee to confirm bookings prior to arrival. If there are health/wellness issues requiring support, we do not have the resources or facilities available to assist. Vehicles will no longer be allowed on the beach except for delivery of required equipment and accessibility purposes (there is a space for parking at the bend just before the beach).
A reminder that we are not a nudist community; we understand that some guests may choose to go without bathing suits for sauna/swimming, but appreciate a modicum of modesty in acknowledging that it is not comfortable for some others who also enjoy the space.
We do our best to accommodate many visitors; it is up to each individual to be aware of their needs and their surroundings – freedom of expression is fine when it doesn’t impinge on the freedom of others.
Thank you for reading.
