Mid-July and we are busier than ever! Because of this, we’ve had to add extra porta-potties – There is a new orange one behind the Cob Ovens along the short trail between the trees towards Lover’s Lane, two along Linden’s Lane between Family Camping 2 and River Rd, and 2 more just before the beach – these are pumped out every week, thanks to West Nipissing Sanitation! It makes Julie’s life a LOT easier LOL
Also because of this, it is becoming difficult to reserve campsites. Family Camping 1 is meant for larger trailers and groups. We don’t want to be the Fun Police, roaming around telling people to move their stuff. At this point, campers will just have to find a spot they like when they arrive – we can bring in firepit tubs if there is no campfire pit at the site.
Reminder to everyone that firewood is available up top near the Fisher Garage – donations for firewood are appreciated! The canoes/kayaks/paddleboards and paddles must be moved high up onto the beach so they do not get swept downriver. Please no glass! If you are bringing your dogs, they must be well-socialized and fixed. Sauna etiquette is the same: communicate with those using it, so everyone has a chance to get in their sauna/swim!
As always, please drive slowly and if you have more than 1 vehicle among your camping group, you can leave one at the site and park the other(s) up top until you’re ready to load out.
R&S was an amazing time with a wonderful group of artists, musicians and nature lovers – we are still happy and still a bit tired!
Thanks for choosing our little piece of paradise for your camping adventures!
